Why Kishore Biyani should worry about Oracle

Kishore Biyani can think of hundred ways to improve his Future group and business diversification.But why should he think of Oracle when none of his businesses are competing with Oracle.He can just browse to the Oracle book of accounts and comment on them.This was the thought of mine till last week and this totally went on a review by my friend.Actually we were working on Oracle stuff searching on some of the latest Oracle releases.My friend want to take some shirts to present to his friend and for himself.Suddenly he searched for a Pantaloon shop near by and went there at the company closing hours.He took some shirts for his friend and in the mean time he got some idea of Oracle stuff and he came back without looking one for him.This is the point where Oracle can comment on the Biyani's book of accounts.Of course Biyani succeeded in TOMA by bringing Pantaloon in front of my friend and failed to retain him in the shop for a while.Businesses need to rethink the strategy and find ways to retain the customer as was designed and improved by the Retail shops like Reliance Time OUT,Spencers etc...My idea is to make the points whereby the business got affected and not to criticize the Pantaloons visual Merchandising. The point to be noted is "A business can get competitors from any corner and anyone can be the competitor to anyone".Let us ask a question to yourself,"why Intel should worry about Nokia". They are noway related to each other.But when Nokia came out with a handset which can support the internet and Sony with android phones which can support thousands of applications, then the need for a computer reduces.There by affecting the Intel Processor for computers in the Industry.A similar situation made Google to launch BUZZ recently to compete with Facebook and LinkedIn.Even then the situation doesn't change.Skype is a competitor to GOOGLE which provides safest way to transfer files between users.Thereby affecting the usage of GTalk.Apart from looking and working on competitors within the same line of business, Nowadays competitor can be from any bush with a different product. Also even if some business attracts customers by creating TOMA, it has to satisfy the customer and retain them and make them to spend a lot. The technology needed by the business may vary but the concept of business remains the same. The basic mantra of business went on a sea change from " Don't underestimate your competitors" to " Do something to retain your customers".Business is always expecting competitors and struggling with the customers.
